Virginia ?Ginny? Lee Bassett
Virginia "Ginny" Lee Bassett, 67, of Richmond, Missouri, passed away on December 19, 2024, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Ginny was born on September 22, 1957, in Brookfield, Missouri.
Ginny married Wilbur Dale Bassett, on December 1, 1974, in Sumner, Missouri. She is survived by her son, Ross Bassett, and daughter, Rhea, of Hamilton, Missouri; her cherished granddaughter, Eleanor Bassett, of Atchison, Kansas; her sister, Nancy Stiltz (Carl) of Brookfield, Missouri; her lifelong friend, Jan Orr, of Linneus, Missouri; brother, sisters, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, and nephew Michael Kornbrust.
Ginny was a member of the Hamilton Catholic Church in Hamilton, Missouri. Her passion for genealogy and ancestry led her to explore her roots deeply, becoming a member of the Clan Hunter Association USA. She cherished her trips to Scotland and the opportunity to connect with her heritage through travel and research. Ginny also had a deep love for animals and found great joy in rescuing and caring for them throughout her life.
A visitation will be held at Delaney Funeral in Marceline, Missouri on January 3, 2025 from 4:00- 6:00 pm. Burial at Locke Cemetery will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Harland Sprouse Veterinary Clinic to spay and neuter animals in need.
