  Notes	Springfield Union, August 27, 1977 Armand N. Bessette WEST SPRINGFIELD – Armand N. Bessette, 80, founder and former proprietor of the Friendly Barber Shop died Thursday in a local nursing home. He was formerly of 51 Van Deene Ave. He was born in Farnham, Can., and lived in West Springfield 50 years. He was an Army veteran of World War I, a member of Shuffleboard American Legion Post 207 and the Club of Forest Park. He leaves his wife, Augustine; a son, George A. of West Springfield; three daughters, Claire Wellspeak of West Springfield, Simone Boyle of Wethersfield, Conn., and Lucille Caputo of Springfield; two brothers, Romeo of Franham and O’Leary of West Springfield; a sister, Gertrude Lemaire of St. Brigide, Can.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at Toomey-O’Brien funeral home with a graveside service at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
