Bessette, 69, of 3732 Sophia Street, Wayne, Mich., formerly of West Springfield, died Wednesday in Wayne County General Hospital. Born in West Springfield, Aug. 13, 1898, son of the late Charles J. and Emma L. (Norris) Bessette, he had lived in West Springfield until 10 years ago. He owned and operated Windmill Grill in West Springfield for many years and later operated Whately Inn in Whately, retiring in 9156. He was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Young of Lauderdale By The Sea, Fla., and Mrs. Anite Wade of Wayne, with whom he made his home; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at Curran-Jones funeral home Monday at 8 a.m. with a requiem high Mass in Immaculate Conception Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, West Springfield. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
