Rebecca Bass Huckabay
LAFAYETTE ? Funeral services will be3 held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Rebecca Bass Huckabay, 85, who died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park.
The Rev. Duane Petersen, associate rector of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, will conduct the funeral services.
Mrs. Huckabay, the daughter of the late Thomas H. Morris III and the former Iris Lorraine Huckabay, was a native of Delhi and a resident of Lafayette. She was a cheerleader and a member of the Redjackets at SLI and was a devoted school teacher for many years. Mrs. Huckabay was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Church of the Ascension.
Survivors include two sons, Robert M. Bass and wife, Linda, of Lafayette, and William M. Bass and wife, Elizabeth, of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Scott K. Bass, Robin E. Crook, Aaron S. Bass, Casey W. Bass, James A. Bass, Robert A. Bass, Carrie L. Bass and Amy R. Bass; and six great-grandchildren, Lauryn Bass, Claire Bass, Tyler Bass, Sean Bass, Alexis Bass and Sydney Crook.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas H. Morris III; her mother, Iris Lorraine Huckabay; her step-father, Percy Leon Blum; first husband, William T. Bass; and second husband, Dr. Calvin Huckabay.
Visiting hours will be observed from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of services.
