  Notes	The Fort Wayne news-Sentinel, July 16, 2010 James R. Bassett JAMES R. "JIM" BASSETT, 78, of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, 3:16 p.m., at Adams Memorial Hospital, Decatur. Born Feb. 17, 1932, in Lerna, Ill., he was the son of Carroll C. and Dorothy E. (Highland) Bassett. On Sept. 6, 1953, he married Beverly J. Lister. He retired in 1993 from GTE, Fort Wayne after 25 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. Bassett of Monroe; son, Scott (Calynn) Bassett of Woodburn; daughter, Mrs. Nan (Kevin) Cook of Decatur; three brothers; two sisters; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Martha Lyon officiating.
