G.W. Bass, Ridgeway, Found Dead
The body of George W. Bass, 54, of Ridgeway, missing since Sunday, was found Friday off Highway 21 north of Ridgeway.
Fairfield County Coroner Davis E. Boulware said death appeared to have been of natural causes and estimated that it occurred Sunday evening or night. No inquest is planned at present, pending further investigation.
He was born at Ridgeway, the son of the late Allen Bass and the late Cora Dove Bass. He was employed at Craig Construction Company in Columbia.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jean B. Vaughn of Greenville and Mrs. Kay B. Black of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Branham of Ridgeway, and five brothers, Tollie Bass, Samuel P. Bass, John E. Bass and Charlie Bass, all of Ridgeway, and Heyward Bass of Columbia.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Aimwell Presbyterian Church, Ridgeway. Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery.
Pope Funeral Home is in charge.

Funeral services for George W. Bass, 54, of Ridgeway will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Aimwell Presbyterian Church in Ridgeway. Burial will follow in Aimwell Cemetery.
Mr. Bass was found dead Friday off Highway 21 north of Ridgeway. He had been missing since Sunday. Davis E. Boulware, the Fairfield County coroner, said he apparently died of natural causes. Pending further investigaton, no inquest is planned.
Born in Ridgeway, Mr. Bass was the son of Allen Bass and Cora Dove Bass. He worked for Craig Construction Company in Columbia.
