C.H. Bessette, Troy Pastor?s Brother, Dies
Charles H. Bessette, 70, of 40 Grace St., Waterford, brother of Rev. Harvey J. Bessette, pastor of St. Jean Baptiste Church, died yesterday at St. Mary?s Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Bessette was lifelong resident of Waterford and a communicant of St. Anne?s Church there. He was a millwright and had been employed for 22 years by the National Automotive Fibre Co. until his retirement in 1955 because of ill health. He had been superintendent of the concern for many years.
He was the husband of the former Albertine Bouchard who died July 20 this years, and brother of Henry J. Bessette of Waterford who died Oct. 3.
He is survived by three sons, Harvey and Albert Bessette, both of Wateford, and Leo Bessette of Cohoes, Besides Father Bessette, he is survived by four other brothers, Albert and Ernest, both of Waterford, Arthur of Troy and Clarence of Lake Charles, La., and a sister, Maj. Anita Bessette, United States Army Nurse Corps, Washington, D.C.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from A.G. Bolvin?s Sons Funeral Home, 70 Congress St., Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. From St. Anne?s Church, Waterford, where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Waterford.
