Steven Craig Bass
Steven Craig Bass (54) passed away at his home unexpectedly on July 26, 2022. He was born on September 15, 1967 to Norman F Bass, Jr. and Janet B Toedt in Wilmington, NC. He was one of three children. Steven was loved by many friends, who appreciated his sense of humor, his green thumb and creative landscaping ideas, his fantastic cooking skills, and his extreme loyalty to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his loving stepfather Lynn T Toedt.
Steven is survived by his adoring and loving wife Margaret Ellen Shoulars-Bass, his father Norman F Bass, Jr. (Petie), his mother Janet B Toedt, his siblings, Denise Bass Williford (Timothy), Macy E Toedt (Kingsley), his nephew Elijah S Daughtry, his niece Sunshine Pugh, his two loving dogs Molly and Max, and scores of friends too many to try and name.
Steven was a 1985 graduate of New Hanover High School and worked for many years in landscaping and garden design. He was passionate about music, writing songs, and poetry. He loved Karaoke and the special occasions when he could sing with his friends. He was a champion of song and movie trivia, loved being on the boat, and was best known for his ability to make people laugh while possessing an infectious laugh of his own. Steven would give the shirt off of his back to any friend in need never expecting anything in return.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Hampstead United Methodist Church (HUMC), 15395 US-17 in Hampstead, North Carolina, beginning with a visitation at 10:00am. The service will take place at 11:00am in the sanctuary of HUMC with inurnment in the HUMC Columbarium. A reception will follow in the HUMC Family Life Center.
Arrangements are being handled by Atlantic Cremation Service, Wilmington, NC.
