- Henry Bassett was a boiler maker according to the marriage certificate of his daughtet, Matilda.
Ellen (Jones) Bassett was married to Henry Bassett in the United States, however, after the death of their infant child, she and her children returned to Wales, where they are residing in the 1901 Census. While they were in Wales, Henry Bassett died so Ellen and her children never returned to the United States.
Ellen Jones had two sisters, (Margaret and Elizabeth) and according to a family letter, one of these sisters may have married a brother of Henry Bassett. This couple then eventually moved to Leicestershire, England to run a pub.
