Isaac Newton Bassett
Isaac Newton Bassett, one of the oldest citizens of Newton county, passed away at this home in the south part of town Tuesday morning at the age of 76 years. He was a resident of Newton county about 52 years. Mr. Bassett was born in Hancock county, Illinois. He migrated to Kansas in his early boyhood and thence to his present home. he was a veteran of the Civil war. His wife and five children survive him; John Bassett, 3 miles southeast of Fairview; Noah Bassett, near Purdy, and Charles Bassett of Wyoming; Mrs. Dave Cummings of Fairview and Mrs. Strickland of San Francisco, Calif. Fairview Herald.
