Edward W. Bass
Edward Walter Bass, 72, of Pasco, died March 1 at Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick.
He was born in Upland, Pa., and lived in the Tri-City area since 1980.
He was a retired mechanical designer at Hanford and in the aerospace program.
Life Tributes Cremation Center, Kennewick, is in charge of arrangements.

Edward W. Bass
Edward W. Bass, 72, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Ed was born to Edward and Jacqueline Bass on November 25, 1942, in Upland Pennsylvania. Ed attended Chichester High School in Boothwyn, Pennsylvania where he met his wife, Mary Ann. They were married in 1963 and would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary this coming May.
Ed held many jobs during his career. The most memorial was working on the Apollo space suit. He was part of the team that worked on the design of the helmet and gloves. He also worked off an on at Boeing and the Hanford site. During his wonderful career he received a patent on a dental foot pedal that ran the drills and was also listed on a patent at Battelle.
Ed loved airplanes. He loved to fly. He built a few and remodeled many in his lifetime. He also loved boating, kayaking, and trips in his motorhome. Ed was very inventive and we never knew what he would come up with next.
Ed also loved Volkswagens, his favorite being his yellow Humbug. He enjoyed special outings, cruises, and parades with the local VW club.
He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Paso, Washington for 34 years and taught Sunday school in the junior class for 30 of those years. He loved his church and everything it stood for. He loved Jesus.
Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, children Kathy Piper (Jeff), Ed Bass (Alyce), and Josh Bass (Andrea), his grandchildren Amanda, Justin, Jessica, Sophia, Josselyn, Tyson, Adelina, and great-grandson Emmett. He is also survived by his siblings Joy Morris (Art), Wendy Vaughn (Ed), and Wayne Bass (Jeanine) along with many precious friends. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Jackie Bass his brother Chuck Bass.
We love you ?Special Ed;? you will be missed by so many.
Memorial service will be held at Riverview Baptist Church in Pasco on Tuesday, March 10th at 1:00 p.m.
