      NEW ROADS - James "Jim" Bass Jr., 48, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Stabler
      Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Ala.
      He was a native of Ponchatoula and a longtime resident of New Roads.
      His survivors include his mother, Virginia M. Bass, New Roads; stepdaughter Courtney
      Vernon of Morgan City; two sons, James "Skeet" of Morgan City and James Patrick of
      New Orleans; 10 sisters, Francis Moody, Janet Maumus, Barbara Van Vrancken, Belinda
      Schoeffler, Mary Burleigh, Veronica Lemoine, Judith Niland, Desiree Peebles, Sabrina
      Lonadier and Stacy Ogier; and four brothers, Jon, Thomas, Kip and Tyrone.
      His father, James Enoch Bass Sr., preceded him in death.
      Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 10 at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads, and
      Monday from 8 until the 10 a.m. service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Roads. The
      Rev. Michael Schatzle will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visiting at Niland?s Funeral Home, New Roads, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Monday. Religious services at St. Mary?s Catholic Churhc, New Roads, at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Michael Schatzle. Interment in church Cemetery. Survived by his mother, Virginia M. Bass, New Roads; a stepdaughter, Courtney Vernon, Morgan City; two sons, James ?Skeet?
