Carol Louise Bassett
Carol Louise Bassett, age 76, of Sistersville, WV, passed away Friday July 21, 2023, at WVU Camden Clark Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.
She was born November 1, 1946, in Sistersville, WV, the daughter of the late Edward and Vesta (Hissom) Smith.
She was a homemaker, attended Refuge Church in New Martinsville and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the volunteer fire department in Weirton, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Valerie, and Vada Bassett; brother Charles Smith; sister Barbara Zagula and three grandchildren, Megan Beagle, Michael Grennell, and Richie Rutter Jr.
Survivors include former husband and special friend, Lloyd Bassett; of Paden City, WV; 2 sons, Jack (Sherl) Rowland of N. Richland Hills, TX, and Robert "Bo" (Tammy) Bassett of Sistersville; 2 daughters, Carolyn (Ed) Moore, Englewood, FL and Terri Rowland of New Martinsville, WV; brother, Robert Smith of PA; 2 sisters Karen Anderson of Toronto, OH and Audrey Corso of Colliers, WV. 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held on November 1, 2023, by the family.
