A native of Sampson County, he was a retird farmer and member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. Survivors: his wife, Mrs. Doreen Jackson Bass; two sons, Billy Joe and Bobby J., of Route 1, Dunn; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Warren of Route 1, Wade; four brothers, Harvey and Oscar Bass of Route 1, Dunn, Felton Bass of Dunn and Odeman of Route 2, Newton Grove; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Baggett and Mrs. Sudie Tew of Route 1, Dunn; and two grandchildren.
