Eventide Home
Passed away Friday morning at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital after a lingering illness. Age 75 years. He was born Dec. 14, 1893, in Murphysboro, Ill., moving to Pontiac in 1919 and then to Grand Rapids. He married Sadie V. Cameron Aug. 21, 1960 in Grand Rapids where the lived until moving to Saginaw one year ago. She survives him. Mr. Bass served with the U.S. Army during World War I and was personnel man for the Salvation Army men?s Social Service Center in Grand Rapids for about five years, retiring in 1964. Surviving besides his wife are three step-daughters and three step-sons, Mrs. Joseph (Ruth Hoskin, Grand Rapids; Donald E. Cameron, Marion Springs, Mich.; Brigadier Raymond G. Cameron, Detroit; Marvin A. Cameron, West Allis, Wis.; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Verbeck, Ferndale, Mich. Funeral service will take place 1 pm. Monday at the Case Chapel, 409 Adams St., Brigadier Raymond G. Cameron will officiate with burial in the veterans section of Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7 p.m. Saturday. Those who so desire, may give memorials to the Ruth and Randall Wickes Eventide Home.
