Mr. Willard Bass, 79
Services Wednesday
San Antonio - Mr. Willard Bass, 79, of Hunt, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001, in a San Antonio hospital. He was born November 29, 1921, in Hunt and was a lifetime resident of Kerr County, descended from one of the pioneer families of the county. He had been self-employed in the construction business. He was a member of Kerrville Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Jane Lucille Taylor on February 10, 1940, in Hunt. She survives, along with a son, Randy Bass of Hunt; two grandchildren, Lacey Bass and Lisa Bass; special family member, Bud Wallace; and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Bass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Mr. Ron Briley officiating. Interment will follow in Hunt Japonica Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Bastian, Mark Brietzke, Lynn Short, Lynn Jones, Buster Baldwin and David Britton. Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Taylor, Buddy Henderson, Babe Taylor, Pete Rich, Joe T. Meyer, Ivory Couch, Dahl Howard, Jerry Rodriguez, Jeremy Jones and Mike Maples. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
