George Norfleet Bass

George Norfleet Bass, 79, passed away on June 11, 2024. He was born on February 18, 1945, to the late Norfleet George and Dorothy Marie (Rath) Bass. George was the beloved husband of Carolyn Sue (Burt) Bass. He worked as a Cable Repairman for Southwestern Bell and then AT&T for 30 years before retiring. He worked in the 314 area and for several years, he was the #1 Cable Repairman in the 314 area. After retirement, he did not stop working. George loved to work with his hands and helping others. He built the barn on his property as well as numerous other things. George was a member of the Pioneers Club. He loved muscle cars and was passionate about Corvettes, owning several over the years. George loved spending time with his friends and family, and especially his canine companion, Molly, his beloved Scottish Terrier.
George is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Bass; daughter, Rebeka Sandifer of Wood River, IL; sisters, Catherine Ann Starkey of Warrenton, MO, Diane Lee Hahn of High Ridge, MO, and Janice Kay Pearson of Overland Park, KS; and a niece, Janice Kay Burkemper of Troy, MO.
Along with his parents, Norfleet and Dorothy Bass, George is preceded in death by his son, Billy Norfleet Bass; and a nephew, Adam M. Burkemper.
The Bass family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
