Joyce Patricia Bass
Joyce Patricia Bass, 90, of Palatka, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Radiant Nursing and Rehabilitation of Palatka. Joyce was born in Bowling Greene, FL and had lived Palatka since 1967 coming from Avon Park. She had served in the food preparation industry, working in the Palatka High School cafeteria for 20 years. She was also a member of Francis Baptist Church, where she served in the nursery. She enjoyed fishing, working in her flower garden, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Durrance; her husband, Joel Greene Bass; her daughter, Patricia Louise Bass; and her brother, Billy Mac Durrance. Surviving are three sons, Ronnie Kelley of Wauchula, Danny Bass of Avon Park, and Mark Bass of Palatka; a sister, Linda Kay Dobbs (Larry Franks) of Wildwood; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Mark Edward Branch. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
