Bessette, 66, husband of Carrie (King) Bessette of 112 Pine St., West Springfield, died Wednesday in Springfield Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Canada and had lived most of his life in North Agawam. He was employed as a steamfitter by the William P. Brown Co., and was a member of the Steamfitters Union, Local 603. He was a member of St. Thomas Church. Besides his wife he leaves four sisters, Mrs. Edward Gosselin of North Agawam, Mrs. Thomas Dwyer of Springfield, Mrs. Grace Gaudette of Lowell and Sister Mary St. Edith of Hyacinth, Canada; one brother, Moses V. of North Agawam. The funeral will be held from the R.D. Toomey funeral home Saturday at 8 a.m., followed by solemn high mass of requiem in St. Thomas Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Hinsdale.
