Mrs. Emma Bass Dies Here Sunday
Mrs. Emma Maud Bass, 67, widow of the late R.L. Bass, died at her home, 1324 West Oak Street, Sunday at 3:10 p.m. following a long illness. She was born in Clinton County, Ky., April 7, 1870, and had lived in Denton 52 years, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Davis, pioneers of Denton.
Funeral services were to be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church, conducted by the pastor, Dr. J. Fank Weedon, assisted by Rev. W. Fred Galbraith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers will be W.C. Orr, Grover Campbell, Lee Preston, Oron Bell, Robert Caldwell and E.N. Woodrum.
Mrs. Bass is survived by four children, R.W. Bass of Denton, Mrs. Donald O?Neill of Dallas, Mrs. Hoarce T. Witherspoon of Houston, Mrs. Louie Morris of San Benito; four brothers and sisters, T.L. Davis of Wichita Falls, Mrs. George Williams of Fort Worth, Mrs. Lucy Barron of Sherman, Otis Davis of New Orleans, and six grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
