Bernie Coleman Thompson

Bernie Coleman Thompson, age 79, was born January 16, 1937 in Speer, OK, the son of Simon Thompson and Frances (Pisachubbe) Thompson. He was raised in the Hugo area and moved back to Hugo in 1997 after his retirement from Ben F. Keith Foods of Dallas, TX where he worked as a credit manager. He and his wife, Dianna were married on January 12, 1959 in Dallas, TX. They owned and operated Thompson Grocery & Deli in Grant, OK for a number of years.
Bernie loved his family, good food, "Cowboys" football and dogs, especially "Lady. He was stubborn but was always the first one to say "I'm sorry".
Bernie was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Cynthia Marie Thompson, two brothers, Leonard Thompson and William "J.R." Thompson; also four sisters, Dorchee Thompson, Ethel Hamill, Edith Jones and Norma Homer.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE: his wife, Dianna (Bassett) Thompson; two sons, Mark Ryan Thompson of Ponca City, OK and Bernie Len Thompson of Ardmore, OK; six grandchildren, Andrew Thompson, Patrick Thompson, LeAnn Eckert, Lynette Vorhees, Taylor Thompson and Brennan Thompson; three great grandchildren, Brooke Eckert, April Vorhees and Owen Vorhees; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins along with a host of other family and friends.
