A celebration of life for Mr. Christopher Morris Bass, 40, was held at 2 p.m. Sun., May 25, 2014 at Stephen Greene Baptist Church, 500 Seventh St., Winnsboro, S.C. conducted by the Rev. Mickey Cockrell and assisted by Rev. Mark Bredhold. Burial followed in Stephen Greene Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Sat., May 24 at Pope Funeral Home, 521 S. Congress St. in Winnsboro. Born in Columbia, S. C. Christopher was the son of Ben and Carol Ann Morris Bass, Jr. of Winnsboro. He was an avid baseball fan, receiving pitching scholarships to North Greenville College and Coastal Carolina University after being graduated from Richard Winn Academy. He also coached his son's little league team for four years and was an enthusiastic University of South Carolina Gamecock sports fan.
In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his son, Hunter Franklin Bass; one brother, Ben Bass, III (Bonnie) of Irmo, S.C.; one sister, Jennifer Bass Walling of Winnsboro, and his grandmother, Christine Gladden of Winnsboro. Mr. Bass was predeceased by his grandparents, Ernest and Ola Mae Morris and Bennie Bass, Sr. Mr. Bass was a beloved son, father, brother, and uncle and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Pope Funeral Home assisted the Bass family.
