Donald Wayne Bass
Mr. Bass of Waxahachie, son of Effie and Cornealious Bass, died following a gunshot wound by an unknown assailant as he answered the door at the home of his mother.
He attended Waxahachie schools and graduated from Poly Tech High School in Fort Worht, where he was named All-City, All-State and All-American. He received a football scholarship to the University of Houston and played tight end with the Cincinnati Bengals football team.
Survivors include 2 sons, his mother, a sister, and two nephews.
