      Allen Keve ?Al? Bass

BASS, Allan "Al" Keve Of Sharon, MA entered into rest on March 7, 2022 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Debra Ann (Swartz) Bass. Devoted father of Edie Lynn (Bass) Tonis and her husband Brian and Michael Bass and his wife Wendy (Fowler). Cherished grandfather of Matthew Tonis, Jonathan Tonis, Benjamin Bass, and Caroline Bass. Beloved uncle and friend to many. Al Bass passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family after a short period of illness. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves nieces and nephews and many friends whose lives he touched. Al was born in Brockton, MA to the late Lester M. and Ruth (Reiser) Bass, and raised in Mattapan. He was a proud Eagle Scout and a proud grandfather when Benjamin also achieved Eagle Scout. Al graduated from Boston English High School and enlisted in the US Air Force at age 17. Upon discharge, he attended Babson Institute on the GI bill, earning a degree in business. After college, Al started his professional career working with his father, Lester, in the toy industry, later pivoting to a lifelong career in the souvenir and resort industry. In this capacity he travelled the country and the world. He retired at age 80 and missed the work he had enjoyed for his entire adult life but more than that he missed the people. Al truly enjoyed interacting his peers and his customers, always willing to share information and advice. Al was introduced to Debbie by his friend and prolific matchmaker Adele (Rosen) Cohen. They married on May 25, 1963. When discussing their 58-year union, Al's favorite expression was that by the time they knew each other a year, they had been married for 6 months and a point of pride is that they never had a fight. Al was a member of B'nai Brith and rose to the position of President of the Greater Boston Council. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He loved travel and some of his fondest memories were of annual travel to Puerto Vallarta with Deb where they made many memories and many friends. Services will be held on Thursday, March 10th at 11:30 am at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel 475 Washington Street, Canton followed by burial at Mishkan Tefila Memorial Park, 2605 Centre Street, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Al's memory may be made to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
