Mrs. Lois Murphy
Mrs. Lois Poythress Bass Murphy, 73, of 106 Sparger Place, Greensboro, died Thursday at a nursing home in Greensboro.
A native of Alamance County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bessemer Women?s Club, and charter member of the Women?s Auxiliary of Walte B. Ellis Post No. 63 of the American Legion in Burlington, and a past member of the N.C. Association of Rest Home Operators.
For 20 years, she was the owner and operator of Murphy?s Rest Home in Greensboro.
Mrs. Murphy was the wife of the late A. Graham Murphy and the daughter of the late William J. and Nancy Ann Bradshaw Poythress.
Final rites will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Linebeery North Elm Street Chapel.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Zenobah b. Godfrey, Mrs. Wallace L. Riggsbee and Mrs. Joel M. Berkelhammer of Greensboro, and two sons, Warren F. Bass of Greensboro, and Oscar A. Bass jr. of Titusville, Fla.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight.
