Elsie Bass
Elsie Leona Bass, 61, of Eastover, South Carolina, died November 8, 1998, at her home.
Born in Savannah, Tennessee, she was a daughter of Mable Umphres Palmer of Pine Bluff and the late Joseph Roy Palmer.
She moved to the Columbia area in 1973 from Fort Benning, Georgia. She was a customer service representative for the Square D Company. She was named Woman of the Year in 1982 as a tribute to women in industry and was past president of the National Management Association, Square D. South Carolina Chapter.
Other survivors include her husband, Fletcher H Bass Sr.; a son, Fletcher H. Bass Jr. of Eastover; a daughter, Pamela Kay Martinson of Boise, Idaho; five sisters, Christine Coburn of Baycliff, Texas, Francis Woodmansee of Crestline, Ohio, Ruby Scheinert of Alabaster, Alabama, Nancy Joyce Burleson of Pine Bluff, and Brenda Taylor of Calhoun, Georgia; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home at Columbia, South Carolina.
