Willie H. Bass
Willie Hurdle Bass, 83, of Route 1, died Wednesday, July 6, 1994, at her residence.
A native of Gates County, Mrs. Bass was a daughter of the late Willis A. and Rosa Wilkins Hurdle. She was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Linwood Bass; one sister, Nona H. Anderson of Edenton; and one brother, Noah A. Hurdle of Sunbury. She was preceded in death by a sister, Susie H. White and a brother, Hallet W. Hurdle.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. Terry Fowler. Burial will follow in the Damascus Church Cemetery in Sunbury. The family will receive friends at the residence. Williford-Barham Funeral Home, Edenton, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Albemarle Home Care, P.O. Box 189, Elizabeth City, N.C. 27909, or to the Gates County Rescue Squad.
