Michael Reid Bass

Michael ?Mike? Reid Bass, 70 passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Friday November 8, 2024. Mike was born on September 21, 1954, in Charlotte, NC to the late Bill and Betty Bass. He is preceded in death by his late daughters, Tammy Gordon and Jessica Bass.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Donna Huneycutt Bass. He is also survived by his son Justin Torrence (Ann) of Monroe, NC; daughter Michelle Brown (Heath) of Monroe, NC; 11 grandchildren, Taylor Torrence, Jakob Torrence, Jarod Torrence, Jordin Torrence, Madison Brown, Makayla Brown, Cannon Brown, Amanda Gordon, Danny Gordon, Matthew Bass and Zachary Bass as well as several great grandchildren; sister Carol Biggerstaff of Monroe, NC; sister in law Patty Wise of Matthews, NC.
Mike spent most of his career working for Red Man tobacco company. He was a lifetime member of Matthews Volunteer Fire Department where he made lifelong friends and was well known for his ability to fix anything, and he would drop everything to help anyone who needed it. He retired from Worth Supply after 12 years.
Mike loved to eat good country cooking, sit in his recliner and tinker in his shop. His favorite season was deer season. There was nothing he loved more than going hunting with all the kids and seeing the joy on their faces when they got a big buck! His grandkids were his world, and he loved being a pawpaw.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at LCI Union for all your love and care over the past year as well as Union County Hospice.
