Sherry Kay (Cosper) Bass
YUKON - Sherry Kay (Cosper) Bass, 67, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She was born on November 6, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to J.D. Cosper and Mildred Lavonne (Nelson) Harbison.
A 1976 graduate of Yukon High School, Sherry excelled in track and as a flutist. She dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family while working in various professional roles, ultimately concluding her career in accounting at an wholesale distributor company.
On November 22, 2022, she married Ken Bass in Oklahoma City, beginning a cherished chapter of companionship and joy. An avid gardener and nature enthusiast, Sherry found particular delight in bird watching, teaching others how to garden, and creating beautiful floral arrangements. She was known for her southern cooking, quick wit, and playful "jump scares," bringing laughter to those around her. Sherry's deep affection for animals was evident in her devoted care of her beloved dogs, Garrett and Gabbie.
She is survived by her husband, Ken Bass; her brothers, Jerry Cosper and wife Rikki of Yukon, and Mark Cosper and wife Genevieve of the Philippines; her children, Jon (JP) Nelson and wife Ashley of Leander, Nicole (Nikki) Slaton and husband Brandon of Yukon, and Aimi Nelson Sheese and husband Isaiah of Colorado; her step-children, Jeremy Bass of Lewiston, Idaho, David Bass and wife Kayla of Moscow, Idaho, and Coral Haight-Bass and wife Dale Haight of Clarkston, Washington; and her grandchildren, Jax and Jude Slaton, and August Nelson.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe David Cosper.
Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Maxwell Cemetery in Oil Center, Oklahoma. The family welcomes all to join them for a luncheon at Punkins BBQ in Pauls Valley following the interment. Services are under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home.
