Gibson, Figtree, of Mr. George Bassett. Mr. Bassett, who was in his 83rd year, was a digger of the ?Roaring Fifties.?. He told interesting stories of these times of stir ad adventure, and the varieties of character to be met with on the gold fields. He also had encoungters with bushrangers, even as far back as Morgan. His last ventures in mining were on the Sunny Corner field. The funeral, which was private, took place on Tuesday, Rev. C.A. Stubbin carrying out the service.
