Bessette, 59, of 94 Darling St., a former driver-salesman for Gorman's Bakery for 21 years, died yesterday in Notre Dame Hospital. He was the husband of Riella (Costa) Bessette. He was a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Eugene T. Lefebvre VFW Post No.1271. Born here, he was a son of the late Aldei and Beatrice (Desmarais) Bessette. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond E. Bessette Jr. of Pawtucket; three daughters, Dianne Bessette of Boston, Carol Ronan of Pawtucket, and Kathryn Bessette of Central Falls; two brothers, Charles Bessette of Pawtucket, and Roland Bessette of Central Falls; four sisters, Theresa Medeiros of Central Falls, Lillian Letendre and Jeanne Thomas, both of Pawtucket, Clare LaPalme of Attleboro, Mass., and three grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in Woodlawn Baptist Church, Lonsdale Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
