E.H. ?Hugh? Bass
E.H. "HUGH" BASS, 85, retired from Manitou Express Moving and Storage Co., died Feb. 9, 1995, at a local hospice.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., with the Rev. Arleigh Champ-Gibson officiating. Private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum Gate of Heaven.
Mr. Bass was born July 23, 1909, in Jamestown, Ill., to Roy Edgar and Lee Otis (Hubert) Bass.
He was married Sept. 22, 1930, in Carthage, Mo., to Beatrice Ione Bressler, who died in 1993.
Mr. Bass is survived by a son, Steven G. of Gardena, Calif.; and a half-sister, Lois Jeanne Bass of Greenville, Ill. He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Gale Bass.
Mr. Bass had lived in Colorado Springs since 1955. He also lived in Security, Cheyenne, Wyo., Rocky Ford and El Paso, Texas.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1944 to 1946. He was awarded the Lost Medal by the government of China.
He was a member of BPOE and the Colorado Springs Bridge Club.
