Born on February 27, 1918 in Upshur County, Texas he lived most of his life in Nederland and was retired from Mobil Oil. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Barbara, his daughter, Maxine Bowlden and two grandchildren, Sheila Collier and Cody Bass. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 2:00 p. m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Bossier and husband Bernis of Converse, Louisiana; Sherry Bass and Robert Leger of Nederland; son, Archie "Bubba" Bass of Kirbyville; grandchildren, BJ Bossier, Kevin Bowlden, Kristy Valentine and Cole Bass; great grandchildren, Michelle, Ethan, Angel, Dakota, Sierra, Kolten, and Kaitlyn and great-great grandchildren, Alysa and Tony.
