BASS, BERNICE "BEE" NILES of Gardendale died on July 4, 2001 at the age of 94.
The loving widow of Judd T. Bass who was superintendent of the North Birmingham shops of the Alabama Power Comapny for many years. They were married 65 years at the time of his death.
She was born in Allentown, New York on February 11, 1907. Mrs. Bass was an auxiliary volunteer with University Hospital and Red Cross nurses aid. She was a member of Gardendale-Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty (Sam) Thompson; grandchildren, Jackie (Jerry) Tanner, Robert Thompson, Lee (Lynn) Thompson; great grandchildren, Chris Moore, Susanna Moore, Charlotte Thompson, Jeana Lee Thompson, all of Gardendale, and Nicholas Thompson, and Alexander Thompson of Eldorado Springs, Colorado; one nephew, Wesley (Polly) Jackson of Lagrange, Georgia; special future great grandchildren, Ashlee Moose and Sam Stephenson; her caregivers, Anita Jackson, Shirley Godwin, Mary Huddleston, and Jennifer Phillips.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 6, 2001 from 6pm to 8pm at Gardendale Chapel.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, July 7, 2001 at 11am in the chapel with interment in at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
Lady "Bee" leaves many loving friends and neighbors.
Pallbearers are Chris Moore, Lee Thompson, Robert Thompson, Jerry Tanner, Sam Stephenson, Sam Thompson, Charles Grimes and Steve Grimes.
Ministers for the services will be Dr. Bill Prickett and Dr. Ruby Guess.
