Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert E. Burns III officiating. Mr. Bass, a native of Nash, was owner and operator of East Carolina Distributing Co. and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Madeleine Clark Bass; two sons, Charles Donley Bass, Tarboro, and William Clark Bass, Augusta; two sisters, Leota Bass Hux, Rocky Mount, and Lillian Bass Hart, Raleigh; a brother, Joseph Braswell Bass, Rocky Mount; and two step-grandsons. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Carlisle Funeral Home.
