John Bass
John Bryant Bass, 92, of Red Bank, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at his home after a short illness.
John was a member of Signal Hills Baptist Church. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was employed with the Signal Mountain Cement Plant for 15 years and later retired from Brown Root Construction Co. as a heavy equipment operator.
His wife, Anna Lisa, preceded him in death along with his brothers, Marshall and Hal, and sisters, Lola, Ola, Velma and Zona.
Survivors include his sisters, Emma Standifer of Chattanooga, Lucille Lamb of Whitwell and Dollie Hall of Upland, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Chandler officiating.
Interment will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friday.
