R.O. Bassett Rites Held
Mechanicville ? The funeral of Ralph O. Bassett was held Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the John P. Noonan Funeral Home, 406 Park Ave., Mechanicville, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, where a Requiem High mass was celebrated by Rev. J. Owen Barry, OSA.
Mrs. Lawrence Kelly was the organist, and John T. McDonald Sr. sang the responses to the Mass, ?Veni, Jesu? at the offerty and ?My God, My Father, While I Stray? at the recessional.
Burial was in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Waterford, where the Rev. C.A. Robitaille officiated.
The flag was folded by Martin Offenbacker and Charles Lesson and presented to the family. Bearers were Harold Lane, Charles Adams, Clifford Lauterhahn, Willard Perry, J. B. Walker and Francis Bolinsky.
Tuesday evening the Rev. J. Owen Barry, OSA. visited the funeral home for the recitation of the Rosary. Members of the American Legion also paid their respects.

Bassett, Mechanicville
Ralph O. Bassett, 98 South main Street, died Saturday August 1, 1964 at the Veterans Hospital, Albany, following short illness. he was a Navy Veteran World War 1 and a retired employe of the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. Mr. Bassett was the husband of Rhea Theroux Bassett.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister, Mrs. Harold I. Bristol, Delmar; and aunt, Mrs. Renne E. Germain, California; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Wednesday 9 a.m. from John P. Noonan Funeral Home, 406 Park Ave., Mechanicville, 9:30 a.m., St. Paul the Apostle Church where Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. interment St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Waterford.
Friends may call at funeral home Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m.
