John Daniel "J.D." Bass: Funeral service for John Bass, 75, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2023, at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 2315 Lee Road 10, Auburn, AL 36830 with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, 4650 Arrow Head Road, Loachapoka, AL 36865, Pastor Maurice Wood will officiate.
Mr. Bass, who passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born August 4, 1947, in Lee County, Alabama.
Public viewing will be Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 2?6 p.m. (Facial covering is required).
Mr. Bass will lie-in-repose at the church one hour prior to the service.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Selena Stinson Bass of Auburn, AL; four children, Eric (Claudette) Stinson, Gregory (Sandra) Stinson, Greta (Jefferson) Payne all of Opelika, AL and Craig Stinson, Sr. of Auburn, AL; thirteen grandchildren, Dontavious (Christie), Desmond, Gregory, Gerald, Keara, Aubreal, Craig Jr., Tyrek, ShaDiamond, Ja'Craig, C.J., Tyrone and Delitra; three sisters, Annie Benson of Auburn, AL, Fannie Sanders of Syracuse, NY and Ceola Davis of Dadeville, AL; three sisters-in-law, Katie Bass, Lillian Bass both of Loachapoka, AL and Sandra Stinson Williams of Opelika, AL; three brothers-in-law, James (Mary) Stinson, Henry Stinson both of Opelika, AL and Morrell (Betty) Stinson of Auburn, AL; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
