  Notes	Brazil Daily Times, Indiana, 26 January 1959 Richard Bass, Brazil Barber, Dies At Age 44 Richard Harvey Bass, age 44, well-known Brazil barber, died late Saturday night in the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis soon after he was admitted. He resided at 748 W. Knight St. Born May 7, 1914, in Danville, Ill. Mr. Bass was the son of James Harvy and Yula Bass. He had resided in Brazil since he was 17 years old and is a graduate of Brazil High School. Mr. Bass was a veteran of World War II, having served as a seaman first class in the Navy. For several years he had been employed as a barber by his uncle, Chester Bass, who operates Chuck?s Barber Shop on West National Avenue. He was a member of the Barbers? Union. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Lewis, of Terre Haute; three sons, Earl Bass of Chicago, Roy and Curtis Bass, at home; his mother, Mrs. Yula Howard of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Edith Park of Indianapolis; ne brother Nathaniel Hickman, of Cleveland, O., and one grandson. The body was brought to Miller & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call at any time and where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Pat Buckner and the Rev. Mrs. Cecil Smith of Greencastle officiating. Burial will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery.
