Louis Bass
Funeral for Louis Bass, 73, of Locust Street S.E. will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Charles B. Huggins officiating.
Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bass died Friday at his residence. He was a native of Trinity and a member of Love Chapel CME Church in Trinity. He was also a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed by Denbo Iron and Metal Co. for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, mattie Bass; two sons, Tommy Bass of Springville and Luther Bass of Baltimore, one daughter, Annie Ballentine of Decatur; three brothers, Matthews Bass and Edward Bass, both of Decatur, and Eddie Bass of Cleveland, Ohio; four sisters, Mary Wiggins of Decatur, Sarah Raybon of Athens, Mildred Bell of Terre Haute, Ind. and Edna Hoard of Dayton, Ohio, 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Pete Stevenson, Donald Calvin, Saunders Olds, Cleveland Jarman, Roman Fletcher and Alfred Cordle.
