Otto Bass Jr.
RIDGELAND ? Otto Bass Jr., 72, a retired landscape engineer, died Tuesday in a Savannah hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Second African Baptist Church, Coosawatchie. Burial, directed by Sauls Funeral Home, will be in Moncepoe Cemetery, Coosawatchie.
Mr. Bass was born in Nassau, Bahamas, a son of Otto Bass and Ardell Johnson Bass. He was Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Cherrie Doe Bass; four sons, Aurelius DeVeaux of Savannah and Earl W. Bass, Phillip Bass and Eddie D. Bass, all of Ridgeland; a stepson, Moses Doe of Ridgeland; seven daughters, Joe Ann Amaker, Delores Lester, Patsy Jane Bass, Ida Mae Major, Evette Bass and Sandra D. Arnold, all of Ridgeland, and the Rev. Odell B. Baptiste of Jersey City, N.J.; a sister, Sadie P. Roseborough of Coosawatchie; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
