James Edward 'Ed' Bass Sr. died Monday, May 3, 2004, in Dorn Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Bass, 74, was born April 18, 1930, in Ridgeway, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Bass. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and had retired from UniRoyal, Inc. Surviving: sons, Bobby Robert Bass of Winnsboro and James E. Bass Jr. of Taylors, South Carolina; a daughter, Phyllis B. Truesdale of Winnsboro; a sister, Jessie Gurney of Barrington, New Hampshire; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Bass was predeceased by a son, Johnny Ray Bass.
