Funeral services for Larry Don Bassett “Shade”, age 59, of Grayson, will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Olla Pentecostal Church in Olla, Louisiana with Brother Jonathan Crist and Brother Jeff Masters officiating....He was preceded in death by his father: E.S. Bassett “Bud”; two brothers: Billy Lynn Bassett and Robert Miley Bassett; grandson: Dyson Steele Bassett; step-father: Johnnie Grant.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Melanie Bassett of Grayson; son: Gregory Shannon Bassett of Grayson; daughter: Brandy Lanee Lafferty and her husband Sammy of Kelly; mother: Carrie Grant; two brothers: Ricky Bassett and his wife Kelley; Mike Bassett; three sisters: Gayle Dortch and her husband Jimmy; Joyce Price and her husband Jerry; Mary Nell Mercer Thompson and her husband Paul; mother-in-law: Marlene Hatten; three grandchildren: Tyler “Shade” Bassett, Shannah Jaden Lafferty, and Shyra Raeann Lafferty; many nieces and nephews.
