The Robert Basses
GALESBURG ? Robert and Eva Bass, 1973 Morton Ave., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Robert Bass and Eva Nelson were married Sept. 9, 1950, at the home of the bride?s sisters, rural Monmouth, by the Rev. Gerald K. Johnson.
They are the parents of Sharon Clevenger and Sandra Ryberg, both of Galesburg, and Susan Pintar, Peoria. They have one grandchild.
He is a retired mechanic. She is retired from the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.

Robert Bass
GALESBURG ? Robert L. Bass, 79, of 1372 Morton Ave, died at 3:50 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2004, at Seminary Manor.
Born Dec. 12, 1924, in Little York to Roy and Lula Miller Bass, he married Eva Nelson on Sept. 9, 1950, in Monmouth. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters; Sharon Clevenger and Sandra (and Dean) Ryberg, both of Galesburg, and Susan (and Randy) Pintar of Peoria; two brothers, Paul (and Mary) of Kingman, Ariz., and Richard (and Della) of North Augusta, S.C.; one sister, Lois Bass of Monmouth; and one grandchild.
He was preceded n death by two brothers.
An Army veteran, he served from 1950 to 1952. He was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
He was a mechanic for more than 30 years before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Galesburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. John Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his church or to OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
