Bonnie Sue (Bass) Allen
Bonnie Sue (Bass) Allen, 78, passed away on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at Duke Medical Pavilion after a brief illness.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Renee Raynor Gooch, her bonus children, Cathy (Steve) Fahle and Mark (Charla) Allen, her sister, Connie (Jerry) Lee, her brother-in-law, George Allen, her sisters-in-law, Ramona Barbour, Janet (Pal) Padrick and Shirley Willett, her granddaughter, Miranda Gooch, her bonus grandchildren Andrea Sauls, Jill Allen, Sean Fahle, and Bradley Allen, her niece, Tina Sutton, her nephew, Jerry (McKenzie) Lee, 2 bonus great grandchildren, 3 great nephews, 2 great nieces, and 2 great-great nephews.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Edward (Ed) Allen, her parents, Chester Bass and Ruby (Mason) Bass Garris, her brother, Michael Bass and her bonus grandchild, Racheal Allen.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at Lawrence Road Baptist Church in Hillsborough with Reverend Ed Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery in Durham. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at Lawrence Road Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Orange Family Medical Group, Fresenius Dialysis-Mebane, Duke Oncology and Duke Radiation Oncology for the excellent care they provided during Mrs. Allen's illness. Special thanks go to Nurse Rachel and the rest of the staff of 8West Medical Pavilion who cared for Mrs. Allen in the last day of her life. The care, compassion and support shown to both Mrs. Allen and her family will never be forgotten.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to Lawrence Road Baptist Church, 1901 Lawrence Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
