- 3B3233A353. Kenneth Clay Bassett, son of Joseph Edward and Ina May (Love) Bassett, was born 3 Dec 1909 in Vienna, Maries County, Missouri. He married Annabelle Lee Glick. She was born 5 Jul 1916 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She died 6 Oct 1995 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
BASSETT Kenneth C., 90, a longtime resident of Sand Springs and well known humanitarian, died December 19,1999 in Denver, CO. Three generations of local families remember Mr. Bassett as the banker responsible for their first loans, based on trust and negotiated with a promise and a handshake. Born December 3, 1909 in Vienna, MO; graduated from Missouri School of Mines, Rolla and Draughn's Business College, Springfield, MO. In 1935, he married Annabelle Glick in Jefferson City, MO. They moved to Sand Springs in 1938. Mr. Bassett joined the Sand Springs Townsite Company (Sand Springs Home, real estate division) as Office Manager in 1939. From 1954 to 1984, he was associated with the Sand Springs State Bank (later Bank of Oklahoma) as Assistant Cashier, then Cashier and Vice President of the Commercial and Installment Loan Department. He served the Sand Springs community as City Treasurer, 32 years; Board of Welfare Association, 15 years; Treasurer of United Way, 25 years; Treasurer of Lions' Club, 18 years. Mr. Bassett avidly supported local youth activities and fulfilled his interest as a 20-year volunteer Boy Scout Leader. The Bassetts were members of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Trustee, Elder and Deacon. His wife of 60 years preceded him in death in 1995. Survivors: 3 sons, Robert (Bob), Goose Creek, SC, Fredric, Midwest City, OK and Steven, Groton, CT; daughter, Jane Adams, Denver, CO; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
