Phyllis M. Bassett, 1919-2010
PITTSFIELD Phyllis M. Bassett, 90, of Pittsfield, died on Saturday, April 17, at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield, Nov. 27, 1919, daughter of the late Theodore and Adeline Bassett, Phyllis was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, class of 1938.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield.
Phyllis worked as a secretary at General Electric Co. for 42 years. Phyllis enjoyed many sports, and was a long time Boston Red Sox fan.
She leaves nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Pearl DiCicco, and her four brothers, Theodore, Arthur, Harold, and Clement Bassett.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, Wednesday, Apr. 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
