      SRGT. BASSETTE TO WED ABROAD
Adams Officer Will Marry French Girl
      In Near Future
Fought Boche Soldiers But Surrendered to Charms of Daughter of France

After successfully dodging the boche bullets during the stormiest period of war, Sergt. Eudor Bassette or Reeves street, Adams, has succumbed to Cupid’s arrows, according to information received by his mother this week.
Sergt. Bassette, who is a member of Motor Truck Co. 448 of Motor Supply Train 473, has been in France for nearly ten months, during which time he has been in charge of one of the largest motor garages of the 5th Army corps. His work demanded hard long hours on emergency repairs and overhauling during the fighting but since the signing of the armistice he has had many pleasant trips around France and on several occasions has crossed into Germany, while acting as sergeant chauffeur to the major commanding his section of the train. It was while on one of these trips that he met Miss Margaret Briause of Nogent, Barsogny, a French maiden, and not being handicapped by lack of knowledge of the language, as the sergeant speaks excellent French, the affair progressed rapidly. As Sergt. Bassette expects to be in France until late in the fall plans for the wedding are not complete, but it is more than likely that the young couple will be married in France and return to this country together. Sergt. Bassett’s many Adams friends will be pleased to welcome the French miss who succeeded in doing what the entire Hun army failed to do.
