William Lindsey Bass Jr.
William Lindsey Bass, Jr., 58, of Kansas City, MO, died Sunday, January 1, 2006, at the Veterans Medical Center in Kansas City. A native of Wilmot and a resident of Kansas City for the past 35 years, he was a retired truck driver and a member of the Mt. Arrat Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Miller Bass; two sons, Marlo Jenkins of Kansas City, KS, and William Darnell Bass of Chicago, IL; his mother, Viola Bass of Wilmot; three brothers, Jimmy Bass of Kilbourne, LA, Lama and wife Sandra Bass of Little Rock and Albert "Ab" Bass of Wilmot; and three sisters, Mary and husband Lacy Brooks, Emma Bass and Helen and husband Donald Brown, all of Wilmot. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lindsey "Jack" Bass, Sr.; a brother, John William Bass; and a sister Annie Pearl Bass Clark.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, at the First Baptist Church in Wilmot with Rev. Freddie Smith officiating. Pallbearers were to be Jimmy, Lamar, Albert, and Jimmy Bass, Jr., William Lewis and Steven Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were to be Jimmy Lee McAdoo, James Boldwin, Billy Ray McAdoo, William and Buck Lewis, Sammie Butler and Cleveland Parker. Burial will follow services at the St. Martha Cemetery with arrangements by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
