He was born Aug. 2, 1906 in Morocco to Oscar and Maude (Morton) Bassett. On Aug. 9, 1934 he married Elizabeth McClintic. He was retired from Sturm & Dillard Sand & Gravel Co., Syracuse. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Linda Emely of Ligonier; a son, James of Syracuse; two sisters; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday in harris Funeral Home, Syracuse. (18 Jul 1987)
